Downers Grove, Illinois, September 4, 2015 / PRNewswire / -. The state of information security - the opposite trends and threats to the skills and capabilities of IT professionals in the organization need - will be discussed in the next section of CompTIA IT Professional Webinar Series presented by CompTIA, the trade association for the IT industry.

"The state of security in 2015 and Beyond: A Conversation" is set noon CDT on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.

Scheduled speakers include Tony Sager, senior vice president and chief evangelist of the Center for Internet Security, and Dr. James Stanger, senior director of product development, CompTIA.

"Obviously there is a recognition of the importance of cybersecurity preparedness for organizations in all sectors of the economy," Stanger said. "Companies have invested heavily in technological solutions to counter threats. But the increased use of technology alone is a panacea. It must be accompanied by robust cyber security education, training and certification for IT professionals."

2015 Trends in Information Security CompTIA study found that more than half of the companies surveyed reported a greater interconnectivity of complicated security devices.

"While organizations have adopted cloud computing solutions and mobile technology, which has expanded its security perimeter, creating new security considerations," said Seth Robinson, senior director of technology analysis, CompTIA. "The systems and legacy security practices are often not sufficient to protect this wider perimeter."

CompTIA is at the forefront of the protection of cybersecurity best practices and credentials for organizations; certifications for IT professionals; and soon, the formation of cyber security awareness for anyone touches a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet.

The CompTIA certification holders who attend seminar "state security" earn continuing education credits to renew their certifications CompTIA A +, Network +, Security + or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner.
