CompTIA: IT Professionals Face New Challenges as Organizations Become More Digital



Information technology jobs are not as simple or easy as it used to be with the evolution of new technologies.

IT professionals are more burdened in their job responsibilities because technology digitizes more according to a recent report by the IT industry association CompTIA time.

IT professionals are forced to reassess their duties and responsibilities as a greater variety of options emerging technologies in organizations. The CompTIA report also indicates that the new technologies of cloud computing and mobile companies are leading this change.

IT teams find that the construction and organization of business systems such as data storage, mobile devices and applications have become more complex.

"This is true both at the rear end of the IT architecture, where applications crunch and the number of databases, and the front end, where users interact with the rear end and perform daily operations are housed," says Seth Robinson, senior director of CompTIA and analysis technology. "Cloud computing and mobile devices have transformed the two, with the cloud changing the way mobile devices are built and systems to drive new experiences and workflows."

Of all the new challenges IT professionals face modern technology, digital data and cybersecurity are considered the most problematic. In the past, these areas were an important part of IT operations, but recently their importance has been magnified because organizations adopting the new cloud and other moving parts.

"New threats have emerged as a result of the cloud and mobility, so understanding these threats is a priority for the IT team, as well as traditional threats remain effective," Robinson said. "It's not easy."

Changes Driven Cloud

The most notable change in the IT function caused by cloud computing solutions is the way storage is managed. Cloud solutions, such as databases and analytical services allow companies to create long-range plans that go beyond data storage easily.

"Backup and disaster recovery is a good example of a process that has been re-imagined, especially for companies in the SME segment that previously had little activity in this area," Robinson said.

Sixty-one percent of IT professionals surveyed by CompTIA said the most important for the management of back-end architecture challenge is to keep costs down. Although many companies have found that the cloud economically neutral, there is always an expectation among customers for a lower price.

IT professionals have noted that other challenges with the complexity of back-end systems involved in the treatment of several models such as choosing the right model. Research also shows that CompTIA IT solutions and services and data security are two areas in which a small number of MSF have well-developed skills.
