CompTIA outlines UK Dream IT career initiative details:

 CompTIA IT Association has announced the first details of its IT initiative career boost 'dream' in the UK.

Sleep is a resource library, speaker presentations and networking events that connects 10,000 people in IT careers.

It will have 2,015 EMEA Member Conference & Partner CompTIA October 19 to 20 and aims to address the skills gap in the UK, encouraging more women to join the IT industry.

"The IT market is changing at a remarkable pace, and customers are higher than ever the products and services they buy expectations," CompTIA said in a statement.

"It is an exciting moment for us all, but we all need to ensure we have in place strategies that take into account the long-term changes in the industry."

Learning will be a priority, with discussions taking place about how SMEs and other companies can leverage workforce and learners seeking special skills they can offer.

Dream began CompTIA has already launched in the US, the UK and the director of the community channel Johannes Estelle company previously pickled PCR revealed it would be for the current UK this year.

She said: "It is a part of education, where we try to allow people to take to the universities and schools, and how they can access tools to promote women in technology speak - and is the empowerment of people with these tools.

"This makes them aware of a career in technology is viable, it is possible and not just someone who ticks on a computer in a dungeon somewhere!"
