CompTIA Becomes National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2015 Champion

CompTIA, the information technology (IT) industry association, announced today that it has become a champion of the Month of National Cybersecurity Awareness (NCASM) 2015 CompTIA joined a growing global effort among schools and universities, government agencies, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals to promote awareness of online security.

Celebrated annually on October Awareness Month, National Cyber ​​Security was created as a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure that everyone has the resources necessary to stay safe and secure online. As an official champion, CompTIA recognizes their commitment to cyber security and online safety.

"Whether at home or at work, in the classroom or on the road, there is a need for us all to be vigilant with our online activities so we do not become a victim of cyber thieves and hackers," he said Todd Thibodeaux, president and CEO of CompTIA. "Cybersecurity Insurance depends on human actions, education and knowledge. We are pleased to join other champions of the Month of National Cybersecurity Awareness of this outreach effort to the need for cybersecurity."

Coordinated and led by the National Cyber ​​Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Department of Homeland Security, NCASM has grown exponentially since its inception, to reach consumers, small and medium enterprises, education institutions and youth around the country and abroad. This year marks the 12th year of NCASM.
